La classifica delle 100 migliori canzoni degli anni 60, secondo Paste Magazine

Nei giorni scorsi vi abbiamo proposto la classifica di Paste Magazine delle 100 migliori canzoni degli anni 70. Oggi, invece, torniamo ancora su quelle frequenze digitali per offrirvi un’analoga Top 100 riferita al decennio precedente, gli anni Sessanta. “Le nostre scelte per le 100 migliori canzoni degli anni Sessanta non vogliono replicare quelle di altre pubblicazioni – precisa il magazine nell’introduzione – Questa classifica rappresenta il punto di vista dei cinque membri della redazione e di alcuni collaboratori, su quello che riteniamo il vertice creativo di quello che è, probabilmente, il decennio più straordinario della storia della musica. Alcuni brani erano inevitabili, ma fin dall’inizio abbiamo preferito seguire i nostri gusti personali invece di aderire ai consueti canoni delle classifiche dei ‘più grandi di tutti i tempi’. Naturalmente sono presenti Beach Boys, Beatles e Bob Dylan, ma abbiamo scelto le loro canzoni che significano di più per noi come singoli autori, piuttosto che quelle consacrate dalla storia. C’è però un criterio importante da chiarire prima di entrare nella classifica: abbiamo inserito una sola canzone per artista, altrimenti questa lista sarebbe stata composta per il 40% dai Beatles. Inoltre, non vuole rappresentare una graduatoria dei migliori artisti degli anni Sessanta, ma esclusivamente delle migliori canzoni pubblicate tra il 1960 e il 1969″.
