La classifica dei migliori album indie rock del 1982, secondo Radio X

Il magazine Radio X prosegue la sua esplorazione del decennio d’oro degli anni Ottanta, soffermandosi stavolta sul 1982, “un anno straordinario per la musica alternativa, con l’uscita di album destinati a diventare classici firmati da Depeche Mode, The Cure, Associates, The Clash, Yazoo e Talk Talk” – come sottolinea il magazine nell’introduzione. “Radio X torna indietro nel tempo per celebrare una stagione irripetibile, in cui post-punk, new wave, synth-pop e pop d’autore hanno prodotto alcuni dei dischi più influenti del decennio”. A proposito di anni 80, la rivista britannica Uncut si è posta un ambizioso obiettivo: selezionare i 500 migliori album degli anni 80. Sul sito del magazine, la lista viene presentata con un’introduzione sul decennio in cui, oltre all’impatto mediatico della trasmissione-cult “Top of the Pops” viene anche sottolineata la coesistenza di più anime del decennio: quella di derivazione punk emersa dalla fine del decennio precedente, con tanto di evoluzione wave e gothic, quella più futurista del synth-pop, stemperatasi poi nelle nuove fogge del “new pop”, ma anche quella dichiaramente anti-mainstream di band antesignane dell’indie-rock.
