Successi da quarant’anni. Il magazine Ultimate Classic Rock prosegue nella sua opera di recupero dei classici del passato, pubblicando la sua classifica delle 40 “Best songs of 1986”. “Riguardandolo oggi, il 1986 non sembra un anno cruciale nella storia della musica – sostiene il magazine nell’introduzione – Nel corso dell’anno emersero nuovi artisti, i veterani continuarono a occupare spazio nelle classifiche e i dischi più importanti furono un mix di elementi familiari e di qualche sorpresa. Eppure, come dimostra l’elenco qui sotto delle Top 40 Songs of 1986 selezionate dalla redazione di UCR, c’era molto più di quanto apparisse in superficie. Si stava affermando una spinta al cambiamento, mentre la musica popolare ampliava i propri confini, e persino artisti provenienti dagli anni Sessanta e Settanta iniziavano a guardare avanti. Questi brani – un insieme di singoli e tracce da album – riflettono un punto di svolta: rock, metal, alternative, pop, new wave e dance music competono tutti per un posto tra le migliori canzoni del 1986″, conclude UCR.
